OUR SQUADRON

Uniform of the Air Cadets

The Air Cadets have a wide range of uniforms. We utilise different uniforms depending on the activity we are undertaking. These range from camouflage uniform to formal wedgewood shirt and tie.

At 235 Squadron we provide uniforms to cadets free of charge, however on leaving the cadets these must be returned. The only items we do not provide are parades shoes, and boots for camouflage uniform.

When, where and how much?

235 Squadron meet twice a week, every week. We parade on Tuesday and Thursday from 1915hrs to 2145hrs at our HQ at Cobridge Army Reserve Centre, further details on our location can be found in the Join us section of this website.

The cost of being a member of the squadron is £10, which is paid by standing order each month. This money ensures that we can provide uniform and certain activities (including flying and shooting) for free.

Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people

Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life

Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship

In the last 12 months our cadets  have attended multiple annual camps around the UK, been on expeditions in the mountains, rock climbed, sailed, kayaked, flown, been gliding, been on parade in front of the public multiple times, represented the County, represented the whole of Wales and West, passed exams, been trained on a variety of weapon systems, been shooting, been on multiple different hikes, helped out at charity events, and much more. Head over to our #WhatWedo page to see more examples of our activities.

235 Squadron offer a huge range of activities to our cadets. Everything from flying to shooting, expeditions to rock climbing, you name it, we do it! Our staff's range of experience and qualifications enable us to provide an incredible experience for all of our cadets. We aim to subsidise all activities we run to ensure money is not a barrier to participation. See Our Activties for more information.
